text-align: center;">There’s many who’ll tell you they’ll give you their love,
But when they say “give” they mean “take.”
They’ll hang ‘round just like vultures till push comes to shove.
They’ll take flight when the earth starts to shake.

Someone may say that they’ll always be true,
Then slip out the door ‘fore the dawn.
But I won’t leave you hanging on.
Another may stay till they find someone new,
Then before you know they’ll be gone.
But I won’t leave you hanging on;
No, I won’t be that someone.

And come what may, I won’t abandon you or leave you behind
Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment.
And come what may, I will be standing right here by your side;
I won’t run away, though the storm’s getting worse and there’s no end in sight.

Some talk of destiny, others of fate,
But soon they’ll be saying goodbye.
But I won’t leave you high and dry.
Because a ring don’t mean nothing
If you can’t haul the weight,
And some of them won’t even try,
But I won’t leave you high and dry;
I won’t leave you wondering why.

And storms will surely come,
But true love is a choice you must make
And you’re the one that I have set my heart to choose.
As long as I live, I swear I’ll see this through.

And come what may, I won’t abandon you or leave you behind
Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment.
And come what may, I will be standing right here by your side;
someone to complete me.
Not anymore, dear.
Everything has changed...

Out With Teh Old...

So with 2008 drawing to a close it's time I look back and reflect upon all that has happened this year. It was a year filled with much change. Change in both the small world that I inhabit with family and friends as well as the world around us. Some for better and some for worse. I think that it's how we push through these changes that really show our character. In the face of adversity and hardship to we sink or do we swim? There were many trying times that I went through but with the help of those that I love, the tough parts were not as tough as I thought they would be.

There are many things to be happy about and many things to look back upon and figure out the mistakes. All in all the experiences of another year help to shape and mold who I am. I am glad I went through it all and still came out a little more banged up but I'm still standing! "Whatever doesn't kill you..." well you know the rest.

Looking forward to the coming year I can already see many changes on the horizon. I just have to understand that in order for me to reach those goals and see those changes through to the end, I have to dig in my heels, and push forward. That task is made so much easier when you have someone close in your life and you know that through thick and thin they will stick by your side with no questions asked. I could go on and on about this but I figure I'll keep those to myself. =)

One of, if not THE highlight of the year was finding that one for me. To feel her curl up to me in the middle of the night is just amazing. I've never seen my family take to someone so quickly. I think that they see the love that just radiates from her and understand how happy she makes me.

Whatever 2008 meant to you, may the new year bring you all much joy and happiness. Take care, have fun and have a drink.

Cheers.
Saturday, November 15, 2008

*instrumental*
<font style="font-weight: bold; There are a few people in particular hate more than others though...

1) The Mexicans in the gardening trucks. Why must you drive 60mph in the fast lane?? Move the fuck over and let other people through dumbass. I know you just got into the country and don't want to break any rules but keep you truck in the slow lane. It also benefits you because if a lawnmower falls out of the back you only have to go over one lane to the shoulder!!

2) The old people. You BARELY see over the top of your steering wheel and you are a slow driver. Why do you think it's ok for you to get on the freeway? You don't even look over to merge. Do you decide the time is right based upon gut instinct? Or do you just not care anymore? Don't look at me like I'm the asshole for honking and reminding you there is someone in the lane next to you.

3) Asian women. What's up with the welders mask? Seriously. I know you just got off the construction site but please I'm sure that has to limit your damn field of view. It's small enough already you don't need to fuck it up even more.

4) People who leave their blinkers on. Shit or get off the pot. You're afraid of commitment aren't you? You drive along for three miles with your blinker on and riding the line yet you never make it over. Is it that scary? Would you rather miss your exit than moving over seven feet to switch lanes? I hate you.

5) Bro's in lifted trucks aka Flat Billers. You're obviously overcompensating for something with a truck that could scale Mount Everest. Plus you never even take it off road you fucking poseur.

6) Ricers. Yes I drive a WRX. No I don't want to race you. Eat a dick.

Everyone else I can more or less deal with. If I see a guy coming up behind me fast, I'll move over and realize I'm being a retard by holding up traffic. I have curtains making anything past the driver and passenger seat a giant blind spot but I've never been honked at for making a close call lane change.

Gah!! Theary and I had a lovely sushi dinner over at Fuji's in Pasadena. She found out about the awesomeness that is the all you can eat special! We stayed for about an hour and a half joking around with the smart ass chefs. But they hooked it up with some interesting sake marinated salmon rolls. After we picked up some PBR (high class!! ) and just relaxed on the couch. It was great having her spend the night.

Saturday was work before going to a wedding out in Anacrime. That was my first Vietnamese wedding and I had a blast. There was a DELICIOUS 8-course dinner and that was my first time eating shark fin soup and pickled jelly fish. It's actually much tastier than it sounds. We also made sure to do some damage at the open bar. Then our waiter hooked me up with a LOT of cognac which was also complimentary. The reception itself was very cute as a lot of the bride & grooms friends went up there to tell stories about the couple. Communal Entertainment was the word. Theary and I were the first on the dance floor and the last to leave. It prooved to be a good way to work off some of the alcohol in our system.

Theary also caught the wedding bouquet but it came at the price of bruised knees! What a trooper! So since she caught the bouquet does that mean we're next?

Sunday we woke up late. Worked off a hangover. Then went out to be little fatty fat fat's over at a small hole in the wall burger joint in Highland Park. Stuffed ourselves on burgers and chili-cheese fries but at least we were able to walk it off at Olvera Street in Downtown. There we saw an interesting art exhibit in which all of the artists paintings were done on TORTILLA'S! How awesome is that? Seriously.

The night was spent watching Harold & Kumar Go to Whitecastle. Since I never had tried it before, we made it our mission to acquire some for comsumption. I swear we looked like two stoners walking around THREE different grocery stores in order to obtain the little bite-sized pieces of heaven. I swear I'm not a stoner and neither is Theary but for some damn reason we had the munchies which could only be settled by Whitecastle! Yeah I'm trying to figure that one out as well.

Was great spending the weekend with her just chillin and hangin out. No need to fill each day with something new and unique. We can do nothing and enjoy every moment of it. Just lounge around and talk and the here and now. Or what the future could hold...=)

I'm a firm believer in the saying "everything happens for a reason". Sometimes you are not sure why you are going through certain events or pain and suffering but looking back on things, you realize that everything had to happen in order for you to end up where you are. So even if you're going through a rough patch just keep your head up. God doesn't give you more than you can handle and it will all happen for a reason.
Thursday, July 17, 2008

Ahhh how lovely it was to just lay out in the park with her yesterday evening. I'm having trouble seeing

I'm punch drunk and

I need to find a way back home

It'd be a miracle if you'd oblige ...

I will survive.

On this island i am stuck

Could you correct my crooked luck tonight?

Blissful Exhaustion...

Haven't been sleeping a lot lately. My body is slowly succumbing to the effects of lack of sleep but you know what? All worth it. I've been pushing myself a lot lately to spend time with her and my friends. There are days where I only get a few hours of sleep before starting another 12 hour work day but I don't care. It's been a blast!

What I do love is coming back home after a long day of work, and having dinner with Theary and my Mom then just chilling out on the porch with her. Sometimes it's not even the porch. Sometimes it's spooning on the couch sharing a bottle of wine. There's comfort in the silence we share. At first it used to worry me but now I understand it and appreciate it even more. Uma Thurman and John Travolta had a conversation about this fact in Pulp Fiction. It summed it up perfectly:

Mia:
Don't you hate that?
Vincent:
What?
Mia:
Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable?
Vincent:
I don't know. That's a good question.
Mia:
That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just
shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence.

It also feels good to spend so much time with my friends again. It feels like the core is tightening up once more. For a while we all kinda scattered our own ways but we're slowly coming back together. That's a sign of true friendship right there. No matter what happened or the distance that may have separated us, we still came back together.

Now if only we could've joined them in Vegas.

Several birthdays are coming up this month as well. First we have Jason's party tonight which looks to be great. We're going to have tons o' drinkage and I'm taking my bass and amp up there to Jam with Andy Frasco before his 4 month tour. Then in a few weeks we have our buddy Walter's birthday as well. It's a costume party so Theary and I are trying to this of some interesting costumes. We may do a Kill Bill theme where she goes as O-ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) and I'd be one of the Crazy 88 bodyguards. Or something from Dogma where I would be Azrael (Jason Lee) and she would be Serendipity (Salma Hayek). I tried to convince her to do the schoolgirl stripper look but I think she's going to keep that costume for behind closed doors.

Ok time to sign off.
Tuesday, June 17, 2008

A heart of gold but it lost it's pride.

Beautiful veins and bloodshot eyes.

I see your face in another light.

Why'd you have to go and let it die

FTMFW!!!

My first concert review has been published online! Check out the Thrice review over at the Ice Cream Man dot Com website. It was such a great feeling to see my work posted online. It's a little rough around the edges but I think that overall it was a solid piece. I was given some good feedback about what I can improve upon so hopefully the next one will be a little better.

I finally got a letter from the government saying that I should receive my stimulus check sometime this week. After some deliberation I've decided that I'm most likely going to pick up a dSLR camera. The Canon EOS Rebel XT to be exact. My cousin and I are going to try and start a photography project around LA and hopefully expand it outwards to include other cities in the future. I also have a few other art/music projects that I'm beginning to play around with. I'm going to meet with a few people and bounce the idea around to see how receptive people are to it. From there I may start looking around to form business plans and proposals. I have way too many ideas that I need to get out and work with.

Quick thought: It's amazing to see how much people have gone through in 14 years. Did you ever think you'd be where you are when you were 14?
